Comparing Sofa Quotes: What Is Actually Included?
Same sofa photo, different prices? Check the components, fabric reference, sample costs, packing and delivery basis before comparing a batch quotation.

Send each supplier the same model, component list, dimensions and fabric reference. Then separate the production price from sample work, packing and transport. A blank line is an unanswered question, not an included item. Compare the totals only once those gaps have been answered.
Start by checking that it is the same order
You send a room image to several factories. One prices the sofa, another adds the loose cushions, and a third includes the chairs beside it. The prices arrive in a neat column, but they are not yet comparable.
Mark the model beside each piece. For a sectional, include a top view and a module list. Ask whether the unit price means one module, one sofa or the complete group.
Keep one version of this sheet. If you change the width or fabric after the first quotation, send the same revision to every supplier still under consideration. Otherwise the cheaper figure may simply belong to an earlier version.

- B: Loose cushions — state the count and whether they are included.
- C: Lounge chairs — quote each model separately from the sofa.
Ask what is inside the material price
“Similar fabric” leaves too much open. Ask for the fabric reference used in the quotation, a sample, and a written note of any proposed alternative. Texture, colour and the way the cover lies over a cushion all need checking; a room photograph cannot settle them.
For the seat filling, ask for density and firmness separately. Density describes mass per volume; firmness describes the response to compression. They are different properties. A density figure alone does not tell you whether the completed sofa will have the sit you want.
An abrasion result is not a promise of years in service; ACT explicitly warns against that reading. Ask for the test method and suitability for the intended use. These checks do not establish the specification of a JANEPU model.

Ask for sample or development work on its own line. Confirm whether any sample charge is credited later, rather than assuming it will be. Do the same for special labels, protective packing and inspection arrangements.
“Delivery included” needs a place. Ask for the named handover point, the agreed trade term and what transport or handling is included. ICC’s Incoterms rules allocate delivery responsibilities, costs and risks; the three-letter term should not be detached from the agreed location.
