BUYER REFERENCE / BATCH UPHOLSTERY

Dining Room Furniture Planning: Tables, Chairs and Sideboards

Build a dining-room furniture brief around table shape, chair clearance, storage access and separate order lines before comparing supplier quotations.

Direct answer

Plan a dining-room furniture package from a measured room plan, then compare one table arrangement, a chair group and the required storage. Confirm the table support positions, chair pull-out space and cabinet opening space together. Keep alternatives separate: a coordinated room concept is not a verified bill of materials or a confirmed JANEPU supply package.

Who this is for

  • Designers developing a dining-room layout
  • Dealers comparing coordinated furniture assortments
  • Project buyers turning a moodboard into an enquiry

Decision points

Decision points
FactorWhat to resolve
Round or elongated tableA round outline and an elongated outline use the room differently. Draw the preferred table footprint and the occupied chair positions on the same plan; include doors, circulation and the sideboard. Do not select a seating count from a scene image. Obtain the actual model dimensions before approving the arrangement.
Pedestal or other supportsCheck where the support meets the floor and where it restricts the knees or chair placement. A sculptural pedestal can look compact in perspective while occupying space under the tabletop. Ask for a dimensioned support plan and confirm the intended end-seat positions.
Arms at the ends, side chairs along the tableCompare armchair and armless-chair options as separate order lines. Confirm chair width, seat and arm height, table underside clearance and pull-out space. A matching visual family does not prove that an armchair slides beneath the selected table; dimensions and, where needed, a sample must establish compatibility.
Storage function and accessChoose a sideboard for the objects and use, not only for the wall elevation. List door, drawer and shelf requirements; check opening clearance, internal usable space and the approach from the dining chairs. Do not substitute the outside cabinet dimension for the internal storage capacity.
Alternatives are not extra piecesKeep a preferred table and an alternate in different comparison rows. The same applies to a round versus long table or an armchair versus side chair. Mark each line as preferred, alternate or excluded so the quotation does not count all concept choices as one complete package.
Lighting and styling are separateLocate any pendant relative to the table and record the room height as a project input. Quote lights, rugs and accessories separately only after availability and specifications are confirmed. A concept scene may include third-party references; it does not establish that JANEPU manufactures or supplies them.
